Last night, Flex announced that due to space considerations, for the first time in over a decade, he will not be hosting a New Year's Eve party. Several people present (including myself) responded with "Wait. What? Now where am I supposed to go?"

Well, that won't do.

So, John and I will take up the mantle and host a New Year's Eve party. And you, yes YOU, are invited. We expect to be ready for guests any time after 5pm, though I hasten to point out that we will not be serving Real Food, so guests arriving at 5pm would do well to have dinner first.

Feel free to forward this invitation to anyone I may have missed.

Directions:
As this is a public posting, I prefer not to put home addresses and phone numbers here. If you don't already know how that information, drop me a line at alrobins at gmail dot com.

Kids:
Of course your kids are welcome. As always, our house is not childproof, and our cache of toys is small, so please bring things to keep your kids occupied if they are not old enough to amuse themselves.

Cats:
We have three. If you have allergies, please medicate appropriately.

Alcoholic drinks:
We will provide champagne for toasts, sparkling wine for those who don't care for champagne (Asti FTW!), and our liquor cabinet is open to those who wish it. However, our liquor cabinet is not all that big. If you plan to imbibe heavily, you may wish to bring your drink of choice. Also, be aware that I will take your car keys and arrange alternate transportation if I deem you unfit to drive.

Non-alcoholic drinks:
We will provide sparkling grape juice for those who wish to toast but can't or don't wish to drink. We will also provide an array of soft drinks. Since everyone living in the house prefers Coke over Pepsi, all of the soft drinks we provide will be Coke products. If you strongly prefer Pepsi products, please bring your own.

Food:
As stated above, we will not be providing Real Food, but we will have an array of snacks and appetizers. Flex has graciously agreed to lend us his fondue set, so the tradition of finding out what kind of weird foods you can cook in hot oil or cover in cheese or chocolate can continue.

Parking:
Those familiar with our house may recall that available parking spaces vary with the amount of snow on the ground. John has volunteered to plow some of the lawn for parking, but if you happen to live close to someone else who is coming, carpooling is not a bad idea.

Activities, and things needed:
In addition to the fine conversation, we have several game systems (PS2, PS3, and Wii) available, and I plan to set up areas for cards and/or light gaming. We could use folding tables and chairs for those areas, if you have some to lend-- please contact me ahead of time, so that I can plan areas properly.

RSVPs:
Are not necessary.

I wish I could come with my liquor cabinet to mix drinks. :) Hope it's a grand party!
