I second allanh. My mother told me that she wanted flowers for Mother's Day, and I was going to grump about spending $85 on a bouquet of roses until I thought about what a nightmare my teenagerhood would have been without her. (Plus she just contributed a significant sum to wedding expenses, so it's not like I can really complain. :)
