Scanning for my life
Mar. 20th, 2011 10:28 pmWe're leaving in two days for a week. Also, it's late March, and I haven't given ANYTHING to our accountant yet.
In a desperate attempt to do something about the taxes thing, I started trying to put all our info together. I send the accountant our files electronically, so this involved scanning everything I could find. Then it involved swearing because there are files missing.
I ended up making a file of "known issues" with a "just file an extension, okay?" note dashed off, and then grabbing the nearest file folder and starting to scan. And scan. And scan.
I'm still missing a few pieces of paper, but most of them are replaceable. I also ended up with a three-inch high stack of paper that's been scanned in. That's probably only about 1/500th of the total amount of paper still ultimately needing to be scanned, but the key thing to take away from this is that there is three inches of paper that no longer need to be in my house.
