John made me call my doctor at the first signs of the flu to get a prescription for Tamiflu. This is because he loves me dearly. (Also, probably because he doesn't want to have to wait on me hand and foot. But mostly because he loves me and wants to reduce my suffering. He's a good-hearted man.)
Thanks to the Tamiflu, it could be worse. Symptoms and Tamiflu started Monday; yesterday was the first true day of sniffling-sneezing-coughing-(aching was one of the first symptoms)-stuffy-head-(no fever, sorry NyQuil). The stuffiness is better today than yesterday. I choose to think of that as "I'm getting better" even though I'm still in danger of passing out at my keyboard. (I nap. I do. There's only so much time you can spend in bed though, and generally, I am exhausted but not sleepy.)
Energy comes in drips and drabs. Today has been pretty good so far; the first bout of energy got me downstairs for breakfast and drugs. The second propelled me into the shower. There was a third, which I decided to use "productively" and started to fold laundry. Alas, the third bout of energy was short-lived, and I only got through half of one basket.
It turns out that what I CAN do when I'm sick is play computer games (as long as they don't require a lot of quick reflexes or high-level strategy) and read. Expect a few reviews in the next couple of days.
