I really enjoyed this story... it rather reminded me of the row that I had with my Mom. Her first wedding planning question was 'So, when is Dan going to sign up for (Catholic Conversion) classes? A new semester is starting soon.' I didn't want him to convert, and HE didn't want him to convert, so that tabled the whole marriage discussion for a year-plus... until we did something similar to you guys, but with a JOP. I'm still amazed that a woman who told me when I was little that every time I lied it stabbed the baby Jesus would have been okay with Dan just going through the motions to Catholic class so she could have had the Catholic ceremony to cry over. Yeesh.
We did end up having a reception, so Mom did get a chance to go dress shopping with me and be all girly. I still think if she'd asked the dress question first the whole thing would have gone over a lot better. ;)
