Anyone in MI want a dog or cats?
Sep. 30th, 2008 09:44 amThe source of my niece's asthma has been revealed to be allergies, specifically pet allergies. Thus, my sister-in-law is looking for loving homes for their dog and their cats. The animals do not have to be given all to the same home, she just doesn't want to have to give them to a shelter where they might be put down.
All of the animals are used to being around children, and are up to date on their shots.
The dog is "Roxy", a 3 year old spayed female. She's a mix, but clearly part beagle. She's overweight by quite a bit, to the point that the vet would like to see her put on a special diet. Those diets typically don't include Roxy's favorite food, which is "whatever the kids drop on the floor". She is not a "runner", so she doesn't need a fully-fenced backyard. She can be left alone during the day, but she's spoiled and will want space on the couch.
The cat most in need of a home is "Puss In Boots" (usually just "Boots"), who is a 1 year old spayed female. She goes outside sometimes, but she prefers to stay inside most of the time. She'd probably take well to becoming a strictly-indoor cat. She still has her claws.
Lisa is uncertain what to do about "Sweetie", a 14 year old spayed female. Sweetie may not adjust to a new home very well, and given her age she probably shouldn't be paired with an active family. She's used to going outside, but prefers to spend time indoors too, and away from the other cats. If you're interested in a sedate cat and willing to risk some adjustment issues, she does live up to her name and is a very sweet kitty. If I remember correctly, she's a bit of a drooler when she's purring. She still has her claws.
