Here we go again
Nov. 19th, 2007 12:05 amJohn and I spent 7 hours in the emergency room today. When we went to visit Mom, she was sitting about a foot and a half from her television. She explained it by saying that she'd suddenly lost a lot of her vision at lunch. She couldn't track John's finger as her moved it, and she was shaking slightly. So we took her to the hospital, where they confirmed that she'd had a small stroke. She also has congestive heart failure, which basically means she's got way too much fluid in her body. She's had that for a long time (her feet and legs have been swollen since the beginning of all this), but now it's enough to affect her breathing.
So, she's on drugs to help her shed the fluid, and they're monitoring her.
