Communication

The older I get (I prefer to think of this as "the more I grow up"), the more important clear communication becomes to me, both in how I communicate to others and how others communicate to me.

Case in point: For the last hour and a half, Jeff has wanted me to get dressed. I would have far preferred "Amanda, I'm getting a bit peckish, would you get dressed so we can head off to lunch soonish" or even "Jesus, are you going to laze around all day? Get dressed already!" to what he did say, which was a constant stream of "So, are you getting hungry yet?" ("No, as a matter of fact I actually ate a decent breakfast consisting of something other than sugar, so I'm good.")
