I have no idea why I locked last night's post about my shoulder. I presume it was because at 2:45am I assume that everything I write is going to be whiny, and I wanted to limit the exposure to it.

I went back to bed at 4:45am and found a position I could actually sleep in around 6:00am. I got up for breakfast a little after 11:00am, took my normal medications and a Darvocet leftover from the throat/thyroid issue a few months ago, and then went back to bed around 12:30pm. I just got up a few minutes ago.

At the moment, the pain has lessened a little bit, but I can't tell if that's actual improvement or the remains of the Darvocet. It's definitely a muscle that's pissed off; that much is obvious from the reactions to heat, cold and movement. I've had John check for oddities like bug bites or signs of infections, and there's nothing. I didn't do anything strenuous yesterday, so the exact cause is unknown.

I find the lack of a known cause to be worrisome, but not so much because of the pain. I'm taking this as a sign of just how far out of touch I've gotten with my body. It's time for me to start moving again. For obvious reasons, that moving isn't going to involve a lot of upper-body strength training for a bit, but it's high time I started paying more attention to myself physically.

Feel free to nag me about what I've been doing; I'm not so good at follow-through these days and my current "must start moving again" mood may well dissipate in the next round of "crap, I've got a lot to catch up on". Having others hold my feet to the fire can only be a good thing right now.
